A separate 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation, the RTP was created to advance the investments in North Dakota State University (NDSU). NDSU is a leading educational and research institution but is not positioned to convert research discoveries into commercial products that support the rapidly evolving needs of industry.

Optimizing this capability would create additional opportunities for new jobs and industries which will have a significant impact on the economy. The RTP created a focused, agile business model that emphasizes the commercialization of intelligent autonomous mobile equipment. This model connects NDSU’s world class researchers in six specific technology areas to the needs of industry. The RTP will further advance NDSU’s scientific discoveries by bridging the needs of the global marketplace with the convergence of technologies to solutions.
