Work-based Learning Webinar - How can you use work-based as a workforce development strategy?
Friday, May 9, 2025 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (CDT)
Description
The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber is excited to partner with Golden Path Solutions and other partners across the state to provide employers an online training opportunity to explore work-based learning as a workforce development strategy. Golden Path Solutions partners with North Dakota Career & Technical Education on a system called Compass that helps schools and employers offer and manage work-based learning opportunities to high school students. We’re excited to offer this opportunity to learn more about work-based learning and how your organization can take advantage of this program to build your future workforce.
In Session 2 of our Work-Based Learning series, we’ll explore how WBL can serve as a feeder system into your broader workforce development efforts. Learn how WBL can connect students with career opportunities at your company—whether that means direct employment after graduation, participation in tuition reimbursement or sponsorship programs, entry into registered apprenticeships, or other structured pathways to employment.
We’ll introduce the concept of Career Profiles—tools you can use to showcase your company, key roles, and career paths that help students assess fit and interest. We’ll talk about how WBL gives students a “taste” of your workplace and culture, helping to build early connections that often lead to long-term employment.
Finally, we’ll discuss how WBL can enhance your company’s brand and visibility in both schools and the broader community—building positive awareness among students, educators, and families.
