Civics on Tap: Turning Curiosity into Civic Action

Have you ever wondered what it’s really like to run for office or what it takes to balance civic duty with your career and everyday life? For many emerging leaders, public service can feel out of reach or hard to understand. Civics on Tap bridges that gap.

Join the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber for a unique, non-partisan networking and learning experience designed to help you explore what civic engagement looks like in real life—and how you can make your own impact.

Featuring North Dakota Secretary of State Michael Howe as keynote speaker, this event will explore the personal side of public service: why people choose to serve, how they manage the responsibilities of leadership and what drives them to create change in their communities.

Following the keynote, you’ll join interactive roundtable discussions with local and state elected officials. Each table offers a candid conversation about the realities of leadership, decision-making and community impact—providing practical insight into how you, too, can play a role in shaping our region’s future.

Whether you’re curious about running for office, serving on a board or commission, or simply want to better understand how to engage in civic life, Civics on Tap is your chance to connect, learn and be inspired.

This event is part of the FMWF Chamber’s Center for Civic Engagement, an initiative dedicated to cultivating informed citizens, empowering community leadership, and fostering a culture of service and participation across our region.

Come for the conversation, stay for the connection—and enjoy your complimentary drink while you’re at it.
