The Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber is excited to partner with Golden Path Solutions and other partners across the state to provide employers an online training opportunity to explore work-based learning as a workforce development strategy. Golden Path Solutions partners with North Dakota Career & Technical Education on a system called Compass that helps schools and employers offer and manage work-based learning opportunities to high school students. We’re excited to offer this opportunity to learn more about work-based learning and how your organization can take advantage of this program to build your future workforce.

In Session 3 of our Work-Based Learning series, we’ll take a closer look at how WBL applies specifically to the construction and agriculture industries—two critical and in-demand sectors in our region.

We’ll walk through what students can and can’t do during WBL experiences in these industries in both North Dakota and Minnesota, and provide guidance on more specific OSHA regulations, insurance requirements, and safety considerations. We’ll also share suggested best practices for developing and managing successful WBL experiences in these fields.

You’ll hear from employers in both industries who have implemented WBL and seen positive results, as they share their success stories and lessons learned. We’ll also explore programs that drive student interest and engagement, including summer camps, and Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) like FFA and SkillsUSA, and how you can leverage these programs to build stronger talent connections in these industries.
