Discuss, Connect, Reflect: Employer Tools for Fair Chance Hiring
Monday, June 9, 2025 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (CDT)
Description
Join us for a one-hour webinar designed to equip employers with the tools, insights, and local resources needed to confidently engage in fair chance hiring—the practice of providing employment opportunities to individuals with past justice system involvement.
Justice-involved individuals often face significant barriers to employment, including stigma, limited access to training, and legal restrictions. Yet employment is one of the most critical factors in reducing recidivism and building long-term stability. Fair chance hiring not only creates pathways for individuals to rebuild their lives—it also helps employers address workforce needs with dedicated, often overlooked talent.
This session will explore the opportunities and challenges of inclusive hiring, highlight support services and incentive programs available in the Fargo-Moorhead region, and feature a local employer who will share firsthand experiences and lessons learned from the field.
You’ll walk away with a better understanding of:
- Why fair chance hiring matters for both individuals and the broader workforce
- What local and state-level supports are available to help employers succeed
- How one local employer has integrated fair chance practices—and why it works
Whether you’re new to inclusive hiring or looking to deepen your efforts, this webinar is your opportunity to discuss the realities, connect to actionable resources, and reflect on how your organization can be part of meaningful change.
